AWARD ICOMOS-UNESCO (14.10.2017)

Within the framework of the ICOMOS annual conference 2017, hosted by the Florence Biennale, Gianfranco Meggiato is bestowed the ICOMOS – UNESCO Special Award for Art “for having masterly conjoined the ancient and the contemporary into highly evocative and aesthetically pleasing sculptural installations. Made reinterpreting historic techniques while using traditional materials and new technology, his artworks – particularly the Garden of the Silent Muses – indicate, by means of abstract forms, possible ways for Mankind’s upward striving toward conscience and knowledge through perception and memory.
